A huge panic has spread in China and across the globe after Hantavirus took the life of a man from China. The death was reported when he was traveling on a Chartered bus on Monday. This created high panic among the people because of the impact Coronavirus has already created in China and other countries across the globe. Coronavirus which took the lives of more than 16,000 people already is still not brought under control and is still spreading at a really high pace in countries like the U.S.
Although panicked people started calling this virus as something new which has also erupted from China, this is not the truth in the real-life scenario. As per the data published in the journal by United States National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI), currently, there are 21 species which comes under the hantavirus genus.
The Hantavirus got its name from the Hantaan virus which is named after the Hantaan river. The virus was initially found during the time of the Korean war. During this time of war, there were over 3000 cases of Korean Haemorrhagic fever were reported among the UN troops. By 1981 a new discovery of Hantavirus was also introduced in the Bunyaviridae family and it included the viruses that caused the Haemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome (HFRS).
When the Chinese state media tweeted regarding the death of a man in China due to Hantavirus, it became a top trend within no time as the world is already in a traumatic condition after the widespread outbreak of Coronavirus.
