Final Score By Chuck Licata
A whole slew of “Thank yous” to dish out – with more to come:
*Thank you to the entire Liberty Hill community, on my behalf. First, a lot of you responded so kindly when I lost my puppy of 13 years, Fabian. The outpouring and support was overwhelming – although, this incredible community always steps up for one of its own!
Second, as K-MAC Sports signed its first-ever collegiate client (Concordia University) in a last-minute arrangements for spring sports coverage, I’ve had to rearrange my schedule to accommodate the CU schedule. Extra kudos to Jamie and Monroe Williamson, James Wear, Merle Bertrand and Linda Lattanzio, who have really stepped up!
*To the LHHS basketball teams: when you think of the “Big 3” on both squads – Blake Danielak, Stephen Graves and Shane LaCaille on the boys’ team; Kourtney Bevers, Jessica Green and Taylor Russell on the girls team – plus the talent surrounding them, you know this playoff season will be a special one for Liberty Hill High School hoops.
*To Karla Bevers, Carol Green and Julie Russell, and to the LaCaille family, for consistently helping with our basketball stories throughout the season. And to my good friend Allison Weirich (Abarw.com) and also Blaine Woodbury, for their photographic expertise in the photos we’ve used – and will continue to use.
*To Kim Hofstetter, Cydney Perske and everyone involved with the Liberty Hill High School (and, for that matter, the LHISD) band program. They’re among the many who go unnoticed in their efforts for non-sports events and programs. Kudos!
*To the administration of LHISD – including all school principals, etc. Their hard work each and every day keeps the system going!
*To the Liberty Hill All-Sports Booster Club – another successful year of fund-raising for LHISD athletic programs and for hosting this weekend’s upcoming Panthers Relays.
And on that note: The Booster Club is the sponsor of the Panther Relays, to be held at Panthers Stadium. The LHASBC is looking for some folks to step up and volunteer to help at concessions. They need help for both the High School relays this Saturday (February 18) and the Junior High relays next Friday (February 24). LHASBC will also be having a One-Time Merchandise Blow-Out Sale!
