BCS Mess - Some early predictions.

I think LSU could lose the SEC championship and still play for the National Championship. If the anti-BCS God is listening please have the following happen.

Arkansas beats LSU

Auburn beats Bama

Oklahoma beats Ok State

Notre Dame beats Stanford..yes, I said that

Houston remains undefeated

Of course, none of that will happen. My early BCS bowl predictions.

Rose Bowl:    Wisconsin vs Oregon

Fiesta :           Oklahoma State vs Stanford

Sugar:            Houston vs Michigan

Orange:          West Virginia vs Clemson

BCS title:        Lsu vs Bama

Of course..those bowl games would be much better than a play off!!!

Did you know?

1. In 1970, the university of Iowa asked the Steelers for permission to model their uniforms after the Pittsburgh Steelers uniforms

2.  North Carolina State scored 37 second quarter points to upset Clemson.

3.  Tyler Wilson of Arkansas set a school record with 32 completions today.

4.  Ron Zook's Fighting Illini out gained Wisconsin but still lost.

5.  Baylor is now 1-20 all time vs Oklahoma

6.  In the Penn St vs Ohio St game neither team scored a second half point.

7.  Case keenum now holds the CFb all time record for most career completions with 1,427..breaking the record of Texas Tech's Graham Harrell.

8.  MLB baeball manager Kirk Gibson is 2nd all time for td receptions at Michigan State with 24.

9.  Sparty's senior class has won 35 games over 4 years..the most in Michigan State history.

10. Colorado State produced 428 yrds of offense vs TCU but only scored 10 points.

11.Oregon's rosters includes 47 Californian's.

12.Okalhoma State's roster includes 64 from the state of Texas.

13. Last week I predicted Kstate to beat Texas by 4 (24-20)

14.  The Harvard Crimson and Yale Bulldogs have met 128 times since their first game in 1875,,Yale leads 65-55-8

15.   LSU handed Ole Miss their worst defeat since 1974

16.   Boise State's win vs San Diego St now makes the Aztecs 0-19 lifetime vs top 10 teams

17.   Virginia was 0-8 at Florida State until last night.

18.   The Iowa vs Purdue plaque will remain in my room for another year

This week's biggest winners

1.   The University of Houston......4 teams in the top 10 going down in flames

2.   Paul Rhodes , head coach at Iowa State....another huge win for his program

3.   Baylor..may have been the best thing to happen in Waco since the arrival of Doug H.

4.   The USC Trojans and Lane Kiffen.....won on the road in one of the toughest places to play in America........Why doesn't Barkley get more Heisman hype

5.   The Michigan Wolverines..to my surprise handles Nebraska with ease

6.   Arkansas and Alabama still have BCS championship dreams

7.   The Sam Houston State "Beerkats"  improved to 11-0 with a 36-14 mauling of Texas State...W. Kidd, led the attack with 229 all purpose yards.

Observations from around the country

1.   My favorite uniforms this weekend belong to the Texas Tech Red Raiders.

2.   As crazy as this may sound I can see Mike Leach landing a Head coaching job in the next 3 weeks.

3.   I don't think Bo Pelini is the answer at Nebraska. They never seem to win a big game...38-15 in his 4th year and AP finishes on #14 and # 20

4.   Remember when the Oklahoma at Florida State game had BCS implications

5.   Big game coach BoB Stoops and his Oklahoma Sooner's gave Longhorn fans something to smile at until they remembered they have Baylor in 2 weeks

This week's biggest losers

1.   Oklahoma State..........a 2 ot loss to a team the Texas Longhorns beat

2.   Oregon, Oklahoma, and Clemson..1 loss teams making noise how they should play for the BCS title

3.   The State of Florida has to watch Miami beat South Florida 6-3. Miami, South Florida, Florida State Florida, UCF and Florida Atlantic

have a combined record of 28-36 this year

4.    Craig and Adam James..do I really need to explain

What I'm watching over Thanksgiving and predictions

I know, I was just awful last week! 1-5 with my picks and now 39-15 overall.

Thurs night:   Texas at Texas AM....oh boy, All of American gets to see just how bad the Texas offense is. Gaggies give the Horns a painful memory.........30-17

Fri:                 Houston  at Tulsa......This game decides the Conference USA West Champ.....I smell upset but will go with the Cougars...........44-36

Arkansas at LSU........Unless you're an LSU or Alabama fan please vote for Arkansas...BCS Chaos!!!.. Line play wins it for LSU.......31-24

Sat:                Alabama at Auburn...This is my favorite rivalry game besides Lakers vs Celtics :)   Bama is way to physical this year for the young Tigers......31-17

VaTech at Virginia......VaTech is 7-0 vs Virginia since joining the ACC and holds a lifetime advantage of 50-37-5.....I saw a great article on Virginia Coach

and makes me want to pick the Cavs...ok what the heck..Cavs win 24-21

Clemson at South Carolina....only 132 miles apart, this is one of the most bitter rivals in America...Carolina has won 2 in a row.....Defense vs Offense..Clemson  24-21

Penn State at Wisconsin..........Wisconsin wins at home and will take on Mich State in vs ever Big 10 title game...........31-17

Coaches on the hot seat

My list is getting longer.

1.   Dennis Erickson of Ariz State

2.   Turner Gill of Kansas

3.   Ron Zook of Illinois

4.   Tommy Fluberville of Texas Tech

5.   Rick Neutheisal UCLA

6.   Steve Sarkisian of Washington......18-17 lifetime and 13-12 in Pac 1o play..bad loss last night vs Oregon State

7.   Jeff Tedford  of Cal..............take on AZ State next week

8.   Mike Sherman  Texas AM Gaggies

Longhorn observations

My wife says I need to be more positive so here I go.

1.   I'm positive the Horns will go 6-7 on the year if they play a decent team in a bowl.

2.   I'm positive the Horns are still suffering from the Garret Gilbert tenure...the Horns still dont have a National Championship QB in the program and lost a few in recruiting

when others thought Gilbert was the man for 4 years

3.   I'm positive Kansas State owns Texas..4th straight win vs the Horns

4.   I'm positive Kansas State is a team made up of only 1 5 star recruit, 33 JC transfers, and 55 walk ons

5.   I'm positive Texas' wins come against 6 opponents who have a combined 31-34 record this year

6.   I'm positive the defense is really good..held KState to under 150 total yards

COLUMBIA, Mo. -- Missouri suspended coach Gary Pinkel for the final home game of the season Thursday and froze his salary for a year following his overnight arrest on suspicion of drunken driving.

Athletic director Mike Alden said Pinkel would miss Saturday's game against Texas Tech and the coach will donate a week's worth of his base salary and guaranteed incentives -- approximately $41,000 -- to a campus alcohol-awareness program when he returns.

NEW HAVEN, Conn. -- A driver of a U-Haul truck carrying beer kegs through a tailgating area before the Yale-Harvard game Saturday suddenly accelerated, fatally striking a 30-year-old Massachusetts woman and injuring two other women, police said.
